A man has been arrested in connection with allegedly swindling a Pakistani national out of over Ksh.4 million in a counterfeit gold transaction. The suspect, Stephen Magero, was apprehended after the victim reported the scam to Karen Police Station.

• The victim, a Pakistani national, was defrauded of USD 34,800 (Ksh.4.5 million).

• Stephen Magero was arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) at Sultan Suites, Ngong View Estate.

• Authorities seized ten bars of suspected fake gold, smelting machines, and a mining certificate under the name Chawanda Minerals as exhibits.
