The Africa Champion of Trees Award (ACT), launched by the Kenya Forest Service and Blue Focus Africa Limited, held its first partnership forum on Tuesday at Serena Hotels, Nairobi to celebrate Kenya’s tree planting and conservation heroes.
- The ACT Awards aim to accelerate progress toward Kenya’s target of growing 15 billion trees and achieving 30% tree cover by 2032.
- Dr. Clement Ng’oriareng, Principal Senior Deputy CCF, underscored the importance of tree planting, stating, “One who plants a tree plant hope.”
- Wambui Karobia, ACT Award Secretariat Chief Executive and Project Lead, urged Kenyans to support the initiative as part of Kenya’s 15 billion tree promise.
