Lecturers at Moi University have called off their strike, which began on August 20, 2025, after reaching an agreement with the university council. The resolution addresses several grievances, including the withdrawal of redundancy letters and the promotion of staff.

• The agreement was facilitated by negotiations between the Universities Academic Staff Union (UASU) and the Moi University Council.
• Dr. Busolo Wekesa, UASU branch Secretary General, confirmed that redundancy letters issued to staff members would be withdrawn.
• A consensus was reached on the promotion of 56 dons interviewed in December last year, and the review of the statute on the appointment mode of deans.
• Outstanding statutory deductions, pending arrears, and pension will be settled once funds are received from the exchequer by the Moi University.
