Uzbekistan has announced the discovery of a large gas reserve on the Ustyurt plateau, marking a significant development for the nation's energy sector. This discovery was made at unprecedented depths, expanding the country's exploration capabilities.

• The discovery was made at a depth of 6,500 meters, a first for Uzbekistan's oil and gas exploration which previously extended only to 2,500 to 3,000 meters.
