The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) intercepted a significant consignment of undeclared smartphones at Eldoret International Airport, preventing the evasion of substantial tax revenue.

• 21,600 units of high-end smartphones, with an estimated tax value of Ksh. 16,102,137, were seized.
• The interception followed an intelligence report and involved consignments declared by Portyard Limited and destined for Pemba Cargo Limited, arriving on September 18, 2025.
• This undeclared shipment was part of other consolidated cargo, including 5,000 declared smartphones worth Ksh. 6.4 million, shoes, and other electronics.
