- Any school employing a deregistered teacher faces a fine of not less than Kshs100,000 or imprisonment for up to two years for the school head, or both.
- CEO Eveleen Mitei stated the deregistration is under Section 30 (1) (e) of the Teachers Service Commission Act (Cap. 212), for professional misconduct.
- Since January 2024, TSC has received 111 misconduct cases, resulting in 69 teachers being dismissed and deregistered for immoral behavior, including intimate relations with learners.
