The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has deregistered 15 teachers as of September 19, 2025, for disciplinary issues, barring them from teaching in any school. The TSC also issued a stern warning to institutions against employing these deregistered teachers.

• Any school employing a deregistered teacher faces a fine of not less than Kshs100,000 or imprisonment for up to two years for the school head, or both.
• CEO Eveleen Mitei stated the deregistration is under Section 30 (1) (e) of the Teachers Service Commission Act (Cap. 212), for professional misconduct.
• Since January 2024, TSC has received 111 misconduct cases, resulting in 69 teachers being dismissed and deregistered for immoral behavior, including intimate relations with learners.
• In the past five years, the Commission has deregistered a total of 470 teachers for various offenses.
