The National Treasury disbursed KSh 13.84 billion in development funds by the end of August 2025, with agriculture and water sectors dominating allocations. This represents 3.4% of the total KSh 407.1 billion development budget for the 2025/26 financial year.

• Over half of August's disbursements went to agriculture and water-related departments, including KSh 4.14 billion for the State Department for Crop Development and KSh 2.04 billion for the State Department for Blue Economy and Fisheries.
• The State Department for Water and Sanitation received KSh 899 million, and the State Department for Irrigation secured KSh 521 million.
• This marks a shift from July, when security absorbed nearly all releases, with agriculture and water now accounting for over 55% of the cumulative funds disbursed.
• Several critical sectors, including Roads (KSh 76.2 billion), Housing and Urban Development (KSh 20.9 billion), and Basic Education (KSh 18.2 billion), are yet to receive any funding.
