India's digital public infrastructure, initially pilot projects, has evolved into a national system providing identity, payments, and public services to millions, now serving as a global model for other developing nations.

• The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) processed an astonishing 185.8 billion transactions, accounting for about 83.7 percent of all digital payment volumes in FY 2024–25.
• Aadhaar, India’s biometric identity system, has provided over 1.4 billion residents with a unique ID.
• National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), which operates UPI, reported its revenue rising to about US$370 million (₹3,270 crore) in FY 2025.
• The Reserve Bank of India’s Digital Payments Index rose to 493.22 as of March 2025.
• India’s "India Stack" model is being adopted by countries across the Global South, with UPI expanding to Gulf countries and parts of Southeast Asia.
