Assemian was indicted by a Grand Jury in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, Eastern Division, on May 28, 2025.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) confirmed the extradition following a formal request from Washington on July 24, 2025.
He is accused of purchasing firearms in the U.S., primarily in Ohio and Maryland, between October and November 2018, with the intent to illegally export them to Côte d’Ivoire.
