The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has announced that Lake Nakuru National Park will not offer free entry on Saturday, September 27, 2025, despite a broader free entry initiative for other national parks.

  • No free entry on said date for Lake Nakuru National Park; however, visitors with prepaid eCitizen tickets can access via Nderit Gate from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Main gate (flamingo area) and Lanet Gate of Lake Nakuru National Park will be closed all day.
  • All other KWS-managed national parks, reserves, and sanctuaries will remain open and free for Kenyan citizens on the designated day.
