Members of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Busia Chapter have informed the court that their signatures on a petition demanding the transfer of Chief Magistrate Edna Nyaloti were forged. This revelation comes after a resolution on August 14, 2025, by Busia advocates to boycott cases before Magistrate Nyaloti until her transfer.

• Six members of the LSK Busia chapter claim their signatures on the transfer petition were forged.
• The boycott by advocates, effective August 18, 2025, was purportedly due to security concerns raised by the magistrate, though civil society groups dismissed it as an attempt to frustrate an officer committed to integrity.
• Chief Magistrate Nyaloti had alerted the LSK Busia Branch about broker infiltration in the courts, citing an instance where Michael Noah Wandera was arrested for soliciting Ksh. 10,000 to facilitate a case withdrawal.
