First Slate Production has released its new film, THE CALL, set in Mombasa, which explores the city’s complex dynamics through the story of a young man caught between his faith and the underworld. The film marks the return of director Lucky Collins (Collins L. Mturi) to filmmaking after a hiatus since 2018.

• The film centers on Abdul, portrayed by newcomer Athmani Shughuli, whose life unravels after his mother is assaulted in a crime linked to his own gang.
• The crime syndicate is led by Lady Donata, played by Neema Sulubu, who recruits young men into crime.
• The script, written by Hafsa Addasah, delves into themes of faith, blood ties, and costly secrets.
