Over 150 Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) aspirants in Kiambu County have unanimously endorsed Rigathi Gachagua as their presidential candidate for the 2027 General Election. The endorsement took place at a Kiambu hotel on Friday, September 27, 2025.

The meeting was convened by Kiambu county DCP coordinator Sovinger Bibiana and attended by DCP deputy leader Cleophas Malala and secretary general Hezron Obaga.
Malala stated that DCP plans to reduce registration fees for youth by potentially requiring them to register 4,000 new members instead of paying a monetary fee.
DCP aspirant in Limuru, Maina Njenga, highlighted the endorsement's significance for Mt Kenya's political influence, emphasizing Gachagua's potential to rally the vote-rich region.
