Tensions are high in Kimwani, Kenya after police reportedly shot dead two young men during clashes over a decades-old land dispute. Hundreds of armed youth confronted police while protesting the occupation of a disputed parcel of land.

• The land dispute stems from claims that a large parcel in Kimwani was illegally seized during the late President Daniel arap Moi’s administration, first allocated to the now-defunct Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC), and then given to senior security officials.
