- In July 2024, new regulations increased the cost of some movement permits; for instance, a single transport permit for imported timber soared to Ksh25,570 from Ksh2,000.
- All official fees, including Ksh30 per bag of charcoal and a 16 percent VAT, are now payable through the e-Citizen platform.
