Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu will remain at Kamiti Maximum Prison after the High Court rejected his third attempt to modify his bond terms. He is serving a 12-year prison sentence for failing to safeguard public funds.

• His lawyer requested substituting a Ksh53 million bank guarantee with cash deposits, as banks refused to facilitate the guarantee.
• Justice Lucy Njuguna rejected the application, citing a history of similar requests and the need to expedite the main appeal within 120 days.
• Waititu's wife, Susan Wangare, involved in the same graft case, was previously ordered to pay Ksh500,000 or serve a one-year sentence.
