The Kenyan government has announced comprehensive reforms to its anti-doping regulations following a 21-day ultimatum from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). These reforms aim to restore the nation's reputation in global athletics.

Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya stated that reforms will strengthen the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) through robust policy and legal frameworks.
The National Treasury has committed to ring-fencing funding for anti-doping programs, with additional allocations in the current financial year's supplementary budget.
The reforms will also restructure ADAK by strengthening its board and technical personnel, and revisiting its organogram to bring in expert staff.
WADA had accused Kenya's National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO) of non-compliance after a May 2024 audit revealed serious gaps in anti-doping rules.
