A suspected grenade attack at a hotel in Mandera Town, Mandera County, has left three people seriously injured, including two teachers. The incident occurred on Saturday, October 5, at approximately 6pm.

• All three victims are in critical condition at Mandera County Teaching and Referral Hospital.
• The two injured teachers, identified as non-locals, are from Duse Primary School and Neboi Primary School in Mandera East Sub-county.
• This attack adds to a series of incidents in the region, which borders Somalia, with residents urging the national government to intervene. In July, six police officers were injured in an IED attack in the same sub-county.
