Seven individuals, including medical staff and the Jambo Jipya Medical Clinic in Mtwapa, Kilifi County, have been charged with conspiring to defraud the Social Health Authority (SHA) of over Ksh. 2 million through falsified medical claims. They all denied the charges and were released on bond.

• The accused allegedly altered and falsified medical information between November 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, leading to fraudulent payments totaling Ksh. 2,032,680.
• Among the accused are Patrick Kimuyu Kanya, Faith Chepkirui Bil, Steven Okinyi Ojwang, Justine Baraka, Pauline Wanjiru, and Naida Mbevu.
• One instance cited involves a false claim for a caesarean section for Mary Njeri Njoroge, while she had a normal delivery, resulting in a Ksh. 30,000 payout.
