A cholera outbreak in Trans Mara, Narok County, has claimed five lives and hospitalized at least 45 others, prompting health officials to implement emergency measures. The Narok County Government and the national Ministry of Health have deployed a rapid response team to contain the spread.

• Five fatalities have been reported, with 45 patients currently hospitalized as of October 06, 2025.
• The Narok County Government has banned cooked food sales in open markets and hotels, suspended public gatherings with feasting, and directed, that burials occur within 24 hours in affected areas.
• Symptoms observed in patients include very watery, greenish diarrhea and severe vomiting, with some arriving in shock, according to medical officer Martha Mwita.
