The Kenyan Parliament has released a list of 60 nominees for national honours, predominantly composed of elected politicians, to be conferred during the 2025 Mashujaa Day event in Kitui County.

• 46 of the 60 nominees are elected politicians, including 11 senators and 35 Members of the National Assembly.
• Notable nominees include Minority Whip Ledama Olekina for the Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear (EBS), and Minority Whip Silvanus Osoro and National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss for the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS).
• Mary Wanyonyi Chebukati, chairperson of the Commission on Revenue Allocation and widow of the late Former IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati, was nominated for the Moran of the Order of the Golden Heart (MGH).
• The public is invited to submit objections or representations by Monday, October 13, 2025, at 5 pm to honours@parliament.go.ke, as per the National Honours Act of 2013.
