The Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) announced that tea farmers will receive their final payments for the 2024-25 financial year by October 15, 2025. These payments, along with proceeds from September 2025 green leaf deliveries, will be disbursed directly into farmers' bank accounts.
- Farmers will also receive Ksh2.7 billion recovered from the liquidated Chase Bank and Imperial Bank.
- The recovery of funds from Chase Bank and Imperial Bank was facilitated by the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) and officiated by President William Ruto on September 11.
- The recovered funds are intended to financially support farmers, particularly those in the West of Rift, who recently received lower bonus payments.
