The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party demonstrated a strong show of force in Kasipul as their candidate, Boyd Were, was cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for the parliamentary by-election.

• ODM leaders, including deputy party leaders Adulswamad Nasir and Godfrey Osotsi, national chairperson Gladys Wanga, and secretary general Edwin Sifuna, held a rally in Oyugis Town.
• Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga pledged the party's full support for Were to retain the seat, asserting his suitability.
• ODM plans to deploy various campaign strategies, including leveraging leaders who speak diverse ethnic languages to appeal to non-Dholuo speaking voters.
• Other candidates cleared include Philip Aroko (independent), Collins Okeyo (MDG), and Rateng’ Otiende (UPA), all vowing to challenge ODM.
