The Kenyan government has announced a temporary suspension of avocado sea exports due to low harvest volumes. This decision aims to ensure only mature avocados are exported, following a nationwide survey.

• Exports of specific avocado varieties like Hass, Fuerte, Pinkerton, and Jumbo will continue by air if they meet traceability requirements.
• Bruno Linyiru, director-general of the Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA), stated there is "insufficient volume of main season crop to warrant sea shipment."
• The AFA will monitor maturity trends and review the suspension in the second week of January 2026.
