Police have arrested a fourth-year student from Meru University of Science and Technology for allegedly operating an online scam selling fake Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) examination papers. The suspect was apprehended during a sting operation in Kianjai, Tigania West sub-county, following investigations by KNEC detectives.

• The suspect is believed to be the mastermind behind an online fraud network named "The Teacher's KNEC exam 2025".
• The alleged scammer used multiple online accounts and fake identities, including Dr. Ibrahim, Madam Salim, Chat GPT, and Violent Kathini Mwendwa, to defraud unsuspecting buyers.
• Detectives recovered 29 SIM cards, 6 mobile phones, and 2 laptops during the arrest, which were reportedly used to facilitate the fraud.
