A General Service Unit (GSU) officer guarding State House in Nairobi was killed on Monday, October 13, after being attacked with a spear by a civilian. The assailant, posing as a street family member, used a spear hidden in a sack to attack the officer at Gate D.

• The attack occurred as President William Ruto was preparing to leave State House for Konza City.
• The officer was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
• The assailant, believed to be in his 50s, was arrested and claimed to have been "sent by Satan."
• This incident marks the second death of a GSU officer in less than 24 hours, following another officer's death at a hotel off Mombasa Road.
