The High Court has ordered Director of Public Prosecutions Renson Igonga and Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja to appear in court on October 15 to explain the whereabouts of security analyst Mwenda Mbijiwe, who disappeared four years ago.

• Mwenda Mbijiwe, a former pilot at the Kenya Air Force, disappeared on June 12, 2021, with his car found abandoned near Tatu City.
• The court order follows a petition filed by lawyer Evans Ondieki and Mwenda’s mother, Jane Gatwiri M'ithinji, alleging his unlawful arrest and detention.
• Mwenda was last seen in Roysambu with individuals believed to be officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
