President William Ruto has convened an extraordinary meeting of the National Security Council and a special Cabinet meeting following the unconfirmed news of the death of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

• National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula has adjourned the morning parliamentary session, to resume at 2:30pm for important communication regarding Odinga's reported death.
• News broke this morning that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader reportedly died during a morning walk in India.
• ODM Communications Director Philip Etale issued a social media post stating, "I am deflated," without directly confirming the death.
