The Louvre Museum in Paris was subjected to a brazen robbery on Sunday, where thieves used power tools and an extendable ladder to steal priceless French crown jewels. Authorities recovered a damaged 19th-century gem-encrusted crown near the museum, but the culprits remain at large.

• Three or four thieves executed the heist in approximately seven minutes, carried out in broad daylight.
• The stolen items, described as "priceless," were taken from two displays in the museum's "Gallerie d'Apollon", with the crown of Empress Eugenie being partially recovered.
• The incident forced the closure of the Louvre, the world's most-visited museum and home to the Mona Lisa, for the rest of the day.
