Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja is mourning the death of his father, Mzee Weston Kirocho Kanja, who passed away on Tuesday, October 14. The news emerged on Monday, October 20, with the cause of death currently unknown. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), led by Director Mohammed Amin, offered condolences and support to IG Kanja.

• Mzee Kanja was 85 years old at the time of his passing and will be buried on Thursday, October 23, in Thome Village, Laikipia County.
• The DCI affirmed their solidarity with IG Kanja and his family during this difficult period.
• The death occurred just before that of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who passed away on October 15.
