The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has successfully concluded a 12-year legal battle, recovering a 0.13-hectare road reserve in Nyali, Mombasa County, valued at Kes30 million. This land, originally allocated for the expansion of Links Road, will now be used by the public.
- The Mombasa Environment and Land Court, led by Justice S. M. Kibunja, declared the land title issued to Sheikh Ali Taib null and void.
- The illegal allocation was initiated on January 19, 1996, by the then Commissioner of Lands, with a grant issued to Shaibu Hamisi Mgandi, who later sold it to Sheikh Ali Taib.
- The EACC filed the suit in 2013 against Shaibu Hamisi Mgandi, Abdullah Ali Taib, and former Commissioner of Lands Wilson Gachanja.
