The Kenyan government has initiated around-the-clock social media monitoring to prevent leaks of the upcoming Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations. This action follows reports from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) detailing exam malpractice on platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram.

Approximately 996,078 students are set to take the KCSE exams from November 3 to November 21.
Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo announced the formation of a multi-agency team at the National Command Center for 24-hour surveillance.
KNEC identified 51 Telegram channels involved in exam leaks, with 18 already flagged.
Beginning in 2025, new regulations will introduce personalized examination papers for all candidates, featuring names and index numbers, alongside continued double collection of exam papers.
