In Thika, Kiambu County, at least 72 suspects have been arrested following the disappearance of firearms and ammunition from the Maguguni Patrol Base. Police are investigating the theft of two rifles and over 170 rounds of ammunition.

• Two rifles (a G3 rifle and an AK-47 rifle) and 176 rounds of ammunition were stolen.
• The incident was reported by the officer on duty, who noticed a removed iron sheet and an open steel weapons box in the armoury.
• Preliminary investigations surprisingly revealed no signs of forced entry, with both armoury padlocks found intact.
• The officer on duty has also been taken into custody to assist with the ongoing investigation.
