Deputy President Kithure Kindiki announced that the broad-based coalition, including Kenya Kwanza Alliance and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), will fully support candidates from either party in the upcoming by-elections. This agreement stems from an accord signed by President Ruto and the late ODM leader Raila Odinga, with the aim of ensuring victory for their sponsored candidates.
- The by-elections are scheduled for November 27 across various electoral areas, including Kasipul, Ugunja, Malava, Mbeere North, Banisa, Magarini, and the Baringo Senate.
- DP Kindiki spoke during the Kasipul Constituency Economic Empowerment Engagement in Oyugis, Homa Bay County, where ODM candidate Mr. Boyd Were is receiving full coalition support.
- Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, also ODM National Chairperson, reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the agreement and its continued participation in the "broad-based government."
- Sh2 billion has been allocated to Homa Bay County for last-mile electricity connection, targeting 26,000 new households, with an additional Sh15.8 billion for various development projects.
