Kenya Kwanza leaders, including National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, have lambasted Deputy Conservative Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua for his comments regarding a leadership vacuum in the Mt Kenya region.

• These leaders accused Gachagua of bitterness and disrespecting elected representatives, specifically dismissing his remarks that Mt Kenya legislators are “less educated and easily compromised.”
• Attendees at a fundraiser in Thika urged Gachagua to move past his impeachment and cease actions that could divide the region, emphasizing that voters made their choices freely.
• Thika Town MP Alice Ng’ang’a and Kiambaa MP Njuguna Kawanjiku called for an end to personal resentment and alleged interference in local politics.
