The Anti-Corruption Court has intervened to stop the Kiambu County government from paying a balance of Ksh166 million from a fraudulent Ksh230 million tender. Investigations by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) revealed the private firm used fake audits and bank statements to secure the contract for an Enterprise Resource and Planning System (ERP).

• The EACC exposed that the company submitted fabricated audited financial statements for 2020, 2021, and 2022, and illegally edited bank statements to show false profitability.
• The private firm had already received Ksh63 million before the injunction, and the EACC is seeking its recovery.
• The tender contract, signed on April 24, 2023, was illegally extended by a Chief Officer of Revenue, Supply Chain Management, ICT, and Internal Audit on February 24, 2024, despite the original contract having already lapsed.
