Mwalimu National DT Sacco has launched Mualim, a Shariah-compliant financial product aimed at both its Muslim and non-Muslim members. This move comes in response to members' requests for ethical finance options that avoid interest, aligning with Islamic law.

• The Sacco has approximately 17 percent Muslim members out of a total of 167,000 members.
• Kenneth Odhiambo, Chief Executive Officer of Mwalimu National DT Sacco, stated the product helps them be more inclusive and expand operations.
• A Shariah advisory council and dedicated staff will oversee segregated operations, with pre-launch approval from the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) six months ago.
• Mwalimu Sacco joins about two other saccos in Kenya offering similar products.
