The Social Health Authority (SHA) CEO, Mercy Mwangangi, has addressed instances of Kenyans being scammed by individuals posing as SHA agents, urging victims to report such incidents to the police and through official SHA channels.

• Scam victims are encouraged to report to their local police station and to SHA via their toll-free line 147.
• SHA registration is free, and the Authority's staff do not request money or mobile money PINs for services.
• Kenyans should use official channels for self-registration: USSD Code *147#, afyayangu.go.ke, or sha.go.ke, and for assisted registration, only use authorized SHA offices like Huduma centres or verified community health promoters.
• Payments for SHA contributions are made exclusively through Business Number: 200222.
• This announcement follows the arrest of four suspects by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for allegedly scamming a SHA user of Ksh251,000.
