The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has filed a lawsuit to recover over Ksh.813 million from Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi and 13 others, alleging tender graft. The funds are linked to road construction tenders awarded to companies associated with Wamatangi between 2018/2019 and 2021/2022 financial years.

The EACC claims Governor Kimani Wamatangi abused his position as Chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Roads, Transportation and Housing to influence tender awards from KeNHA, KURA, and KeRRA.
Wamatangi allegedly concealed his ownership of five companies, including Quick Fix Auto Garage Ltd and King Construction Co. Ltd, which cumulatively received Ksh.813,145,532.40.
The High Court in Nairobi has set November 18, 2025, for the hearing of the injunction application regarding the preservation of the defendants' assets.
