The Kenya Forest Service (KFS) has refuted social media claims alleging the grabbing of land within the Menengai Crater Forest in Nakuru County, confirming that forest boundaries remain intact.
- Kenya Forest Service (KFS) clarified that ongoing fencing, funded by the African Development Bank through the GreenZones Development Support Project Phase II, is for conservation purposes.
- The project covers approximately 55 kilometres around 6,014 hectares of the forest.
- KFS stated that the area referenced in viral reports is outside the gazetted forest boundary.
