Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has rallied United Nations support for climate resilience initiatives, specifically targeting the urban poor in informal settlements. Speaking on behalf of President William Ruto, Kindiki emphasized Kenya's commitment to the Building Climate Resilience with the Urban Poor (BCRUP) Programme ahead of COP 30.

• The UN agencies lauded Kenya's Social Housing Programme and the Nairobi Rivers Regeneration Programme as consequential measures for creating climate resilience using locally generated resources in the Global South.
