The Ministry of Education has announced 200 international scholarships for Kenyans through the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Commission for the 2026/27 academic year. Opportunities are available at Bachelor's, Master's, One-Tier Master's (OTM), and PhD levels, with applications opening on November 15, 2025, and closing on January 15, 2026.
- Applicants have 60 days to apply online through the Stipendicum website and must submit hard copies to the Ministry of Education by January 16, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
- The scholarships include tuition-free education, accommodation support of Hungarian Forint (HUF) 40,000 (approximately Ksh15,512) monthly, medical insurance, and a monthly stipend.
- PhD students will receive a stipend of HUF 140,000 (approximately Ksh54,322) in the first phase and HUF 180,000 (approximately Ksh69,868) in the second phase. Bachelor's, OTM, and Master's students will receive HUF 43,700 (approximately Ksh16,971) monthly.
- Eligibility requires a minimum KCSE Mean Grade of B plain for undergraduate applicants under 25 years, an upper second-class honours degree for master's applicants under 38 years, and a relevant master's degree for PhD applicants under 45 years.
