The body of renowned gospel singer Beatrice Wairimu Mbugua, known as Betty Bayo, was transferred from Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) to the Kenyatta University Referral Hospital Mortuary on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, following her death from acute leukaemia.

Betty Bayo passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 1:03 p.m., due to acute leukaemia and excessive bleeding.
Her body was moved by her husband, Hiram Gitau, with an ambulance from Jesus Compassion Ministries (JCM), while her ex-husband, Pastor Victor Kanyari, was also present among mourning fans.
Funeral arrangements are ongoing, and her body will remain at Kenyatta University Referral Mortuary until a burial date and venue are announced.
