Deep divisions within Kenya's United Opposition have flared during campaigns for the November 27 by-elections. The conflict escalated as DCP Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala accused Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya of being a mole for the National Intelligence Service (NIS).

• The dispute centers on the Kisa East Ward by-election where DCP and DAP-Kenya are contesting against UDA.
• Natembeya, who is the DAP-K Deputy Party Leader, fired back, implying Malala's faction was "sponsored by the government."
• Malala claimed, "Natembeya anatumiwa na NIS akuje agonganishe United Opposition."
• Natembeya retorted, "Mimi sijawahi kula pesa ya Ruto hata shilingi moja, wale wamekula pesa ya Ruto wanajulikana."
• Leaders from DCP Kakamega have also criticized Natembeya, urging him to focus on Trans Nzoia politics.
