- The Mwanamberi Project in 2023 collected 707 DNA samples (including 388 from children), resulting in 110 processed birth certificates out of 113 applications.
- The Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs has noted an underwhelming response from parents, with only a third of the 110 parents collecting birth certificates from the Riyadh Embassy.
- Through a Joint Interdepartmental Working Group, 39 mothers and 73 children have been repatriated, and an amnesty was negotiated for individuals out of status.
