The Mbeere North parliamentary by-election is heating up ahead of the November 27 vote, with both the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the opposition employing aggressive tactics to win over voters.

• Current Deputy President Kithure Kindiki led the UDA campaign, while former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua spearheaded the opposition's efforts.
• The UDA is backing their candidate, Leonard Wamuthende Muriuki, to recapture the seat.
• The opposition supports Newton Kariuki (Karish) of the Democratic Party.
• DP Kindiki engaged in grassroots campaigning, including enjoying tea at a local eatery in Karambari ward on Tuesday, November 18.
• Gachagua also conducted door-to-door campaigns and criticized Kindiki for allegedly adopting opposition tactics.
• Embu Governor and UDA chairperson, Cecily Mbarire, is actively supporting the UDA candidate.
• The seat became vacant after Geoffrey Ruku was appointed Cabinet Secretary by President William Ruto.
