Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga's husband, George Wanga, has been appointed the new Managing Director of the Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB) by President William Ruto for a three-year term. He formally took over his new role on Wednesday, November 26, meeting with Basic Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok.

• George Wanga previously served as the non-executive chairperson of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) Board of Directors, an appointment revoked in June Sometime in 2025.
• The KLB, formed in 1980, is responsible for publishing and distributing educational materials, particularly curriculum-based textbooks.
