The Kenya Union of Clinical Officers (KUCO) has issued a 21-day strike notice, effective December 22, 2025, citing the Ministry of Health and county governments' failure to address members' grievances, including signing a Collective Bargaining Agreement and implementing revised remuneration structures.

• The strike notice follows the Ministry of Health's alleged reluctance to sign a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), despite a return-to-work agreement signed on July 24, 2023.
• George Gibore, KUCO Secretary General, stated that clinical officers would withdraw services if demands are not met by December 22, 2025.
• Separately, doctors in Siaya County have also gone on strike after an alleged attack on a medic, with the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists, and Dentists Union (KMPDU) demanding action against the responsible official.
