Mbagathi Level 5 Hospital has unveiled a new Ksh. 11 million oxygen plant, set to significantly boost its emergency services and reduce reliance on external suppliers. The facility will now produce its own medical oxygen, directly piped to all wards.

The hospital expects to save an estimated Ksh. 4 million quarterly on oxygen purchases.
Hospital CEO, Dr. Alexander Irungu, highlighted the plant as a "game-changer" for emergency and specialized care.
The project was delivered in partnership with Amref Health Africa, which provided funding and technical support.
