Kenyan athletes are participating in several major international competitions. The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) women's basketball team is set to compete in the Women's Basketball League Africa (WBLA) in Cairo, Egypt, aiming for their first gold medal. Meanwhile, Kenyan junior athletes are intensifying preparations for the Africa Youth Games in Angola, with a team of 83 athletes departing this weekend to compete in 17 disciplines. Residential camps for the junior team were established in Nairobi, Mombasa, and Eldoret. In Spain, World and Olympic champion Peres Jepchirchir is headlining the Valencia Marathon on Sunday, December 7. Jepchirchir will be joined by fellow Kenyan Joyciline Jepkosgei and defending champion Amane Beriso of Ethiopia.
